SS Rajamouli Celebrates Birthday; Jr NTR Shares Unseen RRR Photo and Heartfelt Wish

Legendary filmmaker SS Rajamouli, known for redefining Indian cinema with epic blockbusters, celebrated his birthday on Friday, receiving warm wishes from fans, celebrities, and colleagues across the film industry. One of the most heartfelt tributes came from Jr NTR, who starred in Rajamouli’s global sensation RRR.

Taking to his official X handle, Jr NTR shared a rare behind-the-scenes photo from the sets of RRR, showing the actor and the director engaged in an intense conversation during filming. Along with the picture, Jr NTR wrote, “Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Jakkana @ssrajamouli!! Loads of love,” expressing his admiration for the visionary filmmaker.

Released in 2022, RRR featured Jr NTR and Ram Charan in lead roles, supported by a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris. Produced by DVV Danayya, the film presented a fictional tale of two revolutionaries set during the pre-independence era.

The film created history at the box office, earning the highest opening day collections for an Indian film at the time and grossing over ₹400 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana alone. It also went on to receive global acclaim and prestigious international awards.

Currently, Rajamouli is working on his next magnum opus starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra. On Mahesh Babu’s birthday (August 9), Rajamouli revealed that the film’s scale is so massive that regular updates won’t do it justice. Instead, the team is preparing a grand reveal in November 2025, promising a “never-before-seen” cinematic experience that showcases the film’s depth and immersive world.
