SS Rajamouli to Play Veda Vyas in Prabhas' Kalki 2989 AD

Renowned director SS Rajamouli, who elevated Telugu cinema to international acclaim, is set to take on a new role in the upcoming movie "Kalki 2989 AD," starring Young Rebel star Prabhas. Speculations are rife that Rajamouli will not just be directing but also acting in this ambitious project, portraying the character of Veda Vyas.

Following the success of his previous ventures, Rajamouli is currently immersed in a jungle adventure action film with Mahesh Babu after the release of "RRR." The collaboration between Rajamouli and Prabhas in "Kalki 2989 AD" is generating significant buzz within the film industry, with Rajamouli's role as Veda Vyas being a key highlight.

The film, directed by Nag Ashwin of "Mahanati" fame, boasts an extensive cast, including Kamal Haasan as the antagonist and Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role. Actresses Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani will play the female leads. Produced by Ashwini Dutt with a substantial budget, "Kalki 2989 AD" is slated for release on May 9 in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi, along with several foreign language releases.
