Saiyaara’s Mega Success Leads to Netflix Premiere on September 12

Mohit Suri’s romantic drama Saiyaara has emerged as one of 2025’s biggest surprise hits, grossing a staggering Rs 541.13 crore worldwide to become the second-highest-grossing film of the year. Starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the film struck a chord with audiences craving emotional love stories in a market saturated with action and nationalist themes.
Produced by Yash Raj Films, Saiyaara tells the story of two struggling musicians whose romance blossoms with the help of an ambitious woman, only to be tested by tragedy. Its success was driven by word-of-mouth and emotional resonance, with viral clips showing audiences in tears during key scenes—though some critics accused the makers of planting such reactions.
YRF’s casting director Shanoo Sharma announced that the film will stream on Netflix from September 12, bringing it to a wider audience. The theatrical run saw it surpass films starring Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Salman Khan, and Akshay Kumar, cementing its status as a modern box-office triumph.
At the film’s success bash, lead actors Ahaan and Aneet’s affectionate moments reignited rumours of a real-life romance, adding another layer of public intrigue to its story. The OTT release is expected to attract repeat viewings and international audiences, potentially pushing its cultural impact even further.
