Salaar OTT Rights: Who Holds the Fortunes of Salaar's OTT Rights?

The anticipated clash between two major stars is creating a buzz. With Shruti Haasan as the lead actress and Jagapathi Babu and Prithviraj in pivotal roles, Salaar promises an exciting face-off. Since Baahubali 2, Prabhas has been on a quest for a clear hit, with mixed success in films like Saaho, Radhe Shyam, and Adipurush. Despite this, the demand for Prabhas' upcoming projects, especially Salaar, remains high.
Directed by Prashant Neel, known for the KGF series, Salaar has stirred immense interest with Prabhas as the Pan India hero. Anticipation is soaring, and if Salaar bookings open, ticket sales are expected to skyrocket.
The film's hype has already translated into substantial business, with the theatrical rights for AP/Telangana states fetching a staggering Rs. 175 crores. Salaar needs to gross over Rs. 300 crores to make a mark in Telugu states. The global business of Salaar matches these lofty standards. The OTT rights have also been snapped up, with Netflix reportedly acquiring the digital rights for all languages at a substantial price.
Initially demanding Rs. 200 crores, producers settled for a deal with Netflix at Rs. 160 crores. This move has sparked discussions in Tollywood, as Netflix aims to bolster its subscriber base with the much-anticipated Salaar.
Scheduled for a worldwide release on December 22 in five languages, Salaar faces tough competition from Shahrukh Khan's Dunki. Shah Rukh Khan, riding high on the success of Pathan and Jawan, sets the stage for an intense clash between two powerhouse actors. Amidst this, Shruti Haasan takes on the role of the heroine, supported by Jagapathi Babu and Prithviraj in key roles. The battle for supremacy between these two stars adds an extra layer of excitement to the impending release.
