Sarileru Neekevvaru Film Review: Fully Commercial Entertainer

The much-awaited film Sarileru Neekevvaru has finally arrived at theatres today. Let us have a look at the review of the film.

Major Ajay Krishna (Mahesh Babu) is highly noted as an efficient crisis manager in the Indian Army. Bharathi (Vijayashanti) is a Kurnool Medical College professor and her son works in the army with Ajay. When Bharathi’s son dies in an army operation, Major Ajay goes to Kurnool to support his friend and colleagues' family. State minister Nagendra (Prakash Raj) develops a grudge against Bharathi and tries to kill her family. At the same time, Ajay arrives in Kurnool and the rest of the film is a confrontation between Ajay and villain Nagendra.

Story:

It is a commercial entertainer and Anil Ravipudi is the new age mass director from the Tollywood industry. He picks simple stories, where the point of the film is known at the beginning itself, and yet, he manages to engage us throughout with fast-paced screenplay, and ample doses of heroism.

The first half starts with Vijayashanti’s story, followed by Mahesh Babu's entry as an Army major. Kashmir episodes are neatly done in the original locations. After 25 minutes, the story moves to Kurnool. The much-hyped train episode doesn’t live up to the hype. However, Mahesh Babu did his best with his comedy timing in this sequence. Pre-interval and Interval blocks at Kurnool are a feast for the mass audiences and fans.

The first half ends on a good note and in the second half, the first 30 minutes are again very appealing for everyone. Some scenes where Mahesh Babu imitates Jaya Prakash and interaction scenes between Mahesh – Prakash Raj are very interesting.

Performances:

Mahesh Babu, who has been playing soft roles in the last few movies, unleashes his other side in this movie. Vijayashanti is a born actress and lives up to her superstar status, Rashmika got a pretty ordinary role and gave her best. Prakash Raj and Ajay are adequate.

Technicians:

Sensational music director, Devi Sri Prasad stands as a backbone for heroic scenes with his mind-blowing background score. He also delivered three good songs and R. Rathanavelu’s cinematography is the best one. At Kurnool fort set his shot-making skills elevated the mood of the audiences and fans. His skill won’t go unnoticed in the Kashmir scenes as well and Ram Laxman stunts are good as well.

Overall the film is an engaging commercial entertainer, It is a family-friendly film with no vulgarity or violence – just entertainment.
