Section 144 Imposed In Telangana’s Nizamabad
During clashes between members of two political factions in Telangana's Nizamabad district over the setting up of a Shivaji statue, Section 144 was imposed in Bodhan town.
Local BJP MP Arvind Dharmapuri said that a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji was planned to be erected at the Ambedkar crossroad of Bodhan town that shares a border with Maharashtra.
He claimed that AIMIM and TRS workers, opposed to the statue’s installation, raised objections and tried to get in the way. Matters took a violent turn with the TRS and AIMIM supporters pitted against BJP and Shiv Sena activists.
"The same crooked mindset..Demolish ours--Accomplish theirs! MIM and TRS goons trying to thwart the unveiling of the statue of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and destroy the statue set up at Bodhan Ambedkar Chowrasta accepted by a municipal resolution," tweeted Dharmapuri.
To prevent tensions in the area, prohibitory orders were enforced. The police is trying to resolve the issue by talking to both groups.
