Significant Bureaucratic Reshuffle in Telangana: 11 Senior IAS Officers Given New Postings
In a substantial shake-up of top bureaucrats, the Telangana State government announced the transfer of 11 senior IAS officers on Sunday, with key figures such as Special Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary B Venkatesham, and A Vani Prasad among those affected.
Arvind Kumar, a seasoned IAS officer of the 1991 batch, who previously held the position of Special Chief Secretary to Government, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Metropolitan Commissioner (HMDA), and Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration, has been reassigned as the Special Chief Secretary for Revenue (Disaster Management). In this new role, he will relieve Rahul Boijja from the additional charge of the Disaster Management Department.
B Venkatesham, who served as the Principal Secretary and Commissioner of BC Welfare, has been transferred to the position of Principal Secretary in the Education Department. He will take over from Vakati Karuna, relieving her from the additional charge of the department.
A Vani Prasad, the former Principal Secretary of the Transport Department, has been moved to the role of Principal Secretary in the Environment, Forests, Science, and Technology Department. Additionally, she will be taking over as the Director General of EPTRI, holding the full additional charge of the post.
M Dana Kishore, who previously served as the Managing Director of HMWSSB, has been reassigned as the Principal Secretary of the Department of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, replacing Arvind Kumar. He will also assume the full additional charge of the posts of Metropolitan Commissioner (HMDA) and Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration.
K S Sreenivas Raju, the Secretary to the Government in the Roads & Buildings Department, has been appointed as the Secretary of the Transport, Roads, and Buildings Department, relieving Vani Prasad from her duties in the Transport Department.
Rahul Bojja, the Secretary to the Chief Minister, will now serve as the Secretary of the GAD, relieving V Sheshadri from the additional charge of the department. He will also retain the full additional charge of the posts of Secretary to the Government, SC Development, and Commissioner of SC Development.
Dr. Christina Z Chongthu, the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, has been reassigned as the Secretary of the Health and Medical and Family Welfare Department. Meanwhile, Dr. T K Sreedevi, the Secretary of Finance, will now serve as the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes.
In another key change, Vakati Karuna has been appointed as the Secretary to the Government and Commissioner of the Woman, Child, Disabled, and Senior Citizens Department, relieving Shruti Ojha from the additional charge of the post.
Lastly, RV Karnan, who served as the Collector and District Magistrate of Nalgonda, has been reassigned as the Director of Health and Family Welfare.
