Smriti Irani aide shot dead in Amethi village

A former pradhan considered near recently elected Amethi MP Smriti Irani was shot dead by unidentified attackers, the police said on Sunday.
Surendra Singh, the former pradhan of Bisauli town, had effectively crusaded for Ms. Irani.
His relatives have affirmed that the homicide could be an aftermath of political contention with regards to the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
Mr. Singh was shot dead while he was dozing in the yard of his residence on Saturday night, the police said. His child Abhay Pratap Singh said he was shot in the head. The unfortunate casualty was hurried to Jais yet as there was no specialist to take care of him, he was taken to Rae Bareli from where he has alluded to the injury focus in Lucknow where he was announced dead.
Abhay Pratap said his dad was "valiant" and suspects that "some Congress supporters, raucous components" disliked him observing BJP's triumph. "They had resentment," he said.
Uttar Pradesh DGP O.P. Singh said so far seven people have been kept and significant pieces of information have been accumulated through electronic reconnaissance.
Ms. Irani flew down to Lucknow after which she drove down to Amethi to meet the family of the victim. She went to the burial service parade and even loaned a shoulder.
