State Government Drives Job Creation and Skill Development Under N Lokesh's Leadership
The State government, spearheaded by IT and HRD Minister N Lokesh, is making substantial progress in tackling unemployment and bridging skill gaps through innovative initiatives aimed at generating 20 lakh jobs.
A key highlight of these efforts is the pilot project ‘Skill Censes,’ launched in the Mangalagiri constituency, which gathered data from 2.77 lakh individuals across 1.12 lakh households in Thullur mandal. Following its success, the programme is set to be rolled out across the state.
To boost self-employment and global job prospects, the government has signed MoUs with Centurion University and 2Coms Organisation, focusing on vocational training in cutting-edge fields like garment manufacturing, drone technology, and smart farming. Through the SEEDAP initiative, candidates are also being trained for international placements in sectors such as nursing and construction.
Advanced skill development is being driven through collaborations with Dassault Systèmes, Salesforce, IBM, and Oracle. These efforts have provided training to over 2,500 engineering students in aerospace and automotive sectors and equipped nearly 28,000 degree students with technical and soft skills. Under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, 35,489 artisans have upgraded their traditional manufacturing skills, while 7,141 individuals have been trained at 200 skill hubs across the state.
To strengthen the skill development infrastructure, the government has established 26 skill colleges—one in each Lok Sabha constituency—and conducted job fairs in all Assembly constituencies, benefiting approximately 28,000 people.
Looking ahead, Lokesh has unveiled a six-month roadmap to train 20,000 individuals at skill hubs, 2,000 at skill colleges, and 2,500 at NAC centres. The Skill International Programme, supported by Indo-Euro Synchronisation, is further expanding global opportunities.
Plans are also underway to modernise laboratories in polytechnic and ITI colleges, reinforcing the government’s commitment to building a future-ready workforce.
