Stock of rice has returned, but complaints from NRIs continue.
When the Indian government made the decision to prohibit exporting non-basmati rice, Telugu people in the United States reacted by rushing out to acquire all they could get their hands on.
Within minutes, the pricing of rice sacks at Desi supermarkets had risen.
Now, however, supermarket stores across the United States are replenishing their shelves with rice sacks.
Telugu citizens, on the other hand, are displeased that these outlets continue to sell at artificially inflated prices, saying that the rice prohibition primarily benefits the proprietors of Indian convenience stores.
Until the restriction is lifted officially in India, the price hikes will continue, as is standard practice in the corporate world.
