Supreme Court Notifies Jagan Reddy
In a critical development, the Supreme Court addressed a plea from YSRCP MP Raghuramakrishnam Raju aiming to revoke the bail of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in an asset case. Notices have been issued to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the defendants subsequent to a hearing at the Supreme Court on the petition filed by YSRCP MP Raghu Ramakrishna Raju against CM YS Jagan in the property case.
The Supreme Court deferred the case's hearing to January next year following today's session in response to Raju's petition. Previously dismissed by the High Court in Telangana, Raju turned to the Supreme Court in pursuit of justice.
Raghu Ramakrishna Raju had filed a petition to transfer CBI investigations against Jagan to other states, prompting the Supreme Court to issue notices to Jagan in this regard. While the Supreme Court proposed consolidating the petition seeking cancellation of Jagan’s bail in the property case with this matter, Raghuramakrishnam Raju’s counsel argued that these are distinct cases. They highlighted that the ED and CBI hadn’t opposed Jagan’s bail, leading to notices being served to the defendants, including Jagan.
