TDP Pledges Free RTC Bus Services for Women
In a bid to reclaim power in Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has made significant promises, including the provision of financial assistance for free bus services exclusively for women. The party has also committed to implementing various welfare schemes aimed at benefiting women, youth, and farmers.
Highlighting the disparity in RTC bus fares, the TDP noted that during its previous tenure, the minimum fare was Rs 5, which has since increased to Rs 20 under Jagan's government. The TDP's pledge includes the assurance that, if they come to power, women will enjoy free travel on RTC buses.
Additionally, the TDP has outlined several welfare initiatives, including a monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,800 for each woman under the Aada Bidda Nidhi fund. The Deepam scheme promises three free gas cylinders annually to women, while the 'Thalliki Vandanam' initiative ensures an annual grant of Rs 15,000 to each child in the family to promote education. The promise of free RTC bus journeys for women is part of the comprehensive plan to benefit women if the TDP regains governance.
