TDP Vs YSRCP: Battle Over ST Commission Bill

With the heating arguments in the Andhra Pradesh assembly on Monday, questions were raised on the Commission for Scheduled Tribes Act, 2019. TDP and YRSCP alleged each other for not serving and taking measures for the welfare of ST’s and SC’s.
However, YRSCP said that Naidu has no right to claim for the welfare of the Tribes as he has not done anything for their social cause. One of the MLAs of the ruling party reminded Naidu about once calling as no one wishes to be born as Dalit. He alleged that the latter should apologize for his rude statement.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that TDP has not called upon even a single tribe in the assembly. He said only one candidate was elected to the state Assembly in 2019 from TDP out of 36 SC/ST candidates contested.
In defense, Naidu said that YRSCP had earlier helped G M C Bala Yogi, PratibhaBhrarati and K R Narayanan in getting their present posts.
Talking about the rape case in Guntur district on a minor girl he said that it was the TDP government who had introduced residential schools for Dalits and categorized the SC reservations to benefit Madigas and no efforts were taken from the ruling party side for the Guntur rape case.
