TJS Declares Full Support for Congress in Jubilee Hills By-election
In a significant political development ahead of the Jubilee Hills by-election, the Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) has officially announced its full support for the Congress candidate, Naveen Yadav. The declaration was made by TJS state president Professor M. Kodandaram during a press meet at OU Colony in Shaikpet, accompanied by state ministers Vivek Venkataswamy and Mohammad Azharuddin.
Prof. Kodandaram stated that Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud had formally requested TJS’s support. Following a detailed discussion and approval by the TJS state committee, the party decided to back the Congress in Jubilee Hills. “We have taken this decision in the interest of strengthening democratic forces and ensuring that the people’s aspirations are addressed,” Kodandaram said.
He called upon TJS cadres, Telangana movement activists, and supporters across Hyderabad to actively participate in the campaign and work for Naveen Yadav’s victory. He emphasized the need for unity among progressive forces to counter divisive politics and safeguard the spirit of the Telangana movement.
Minister Vivek Venkataswamy welcomed the alliance, commending Prof. Kodandaram’s leadership and his crucial role in the Telangana statehood movement. “Kodandaram’s support adds great moral strength to the Congress campaign in Jubilee Hills,” he remarked.
Former cricketer and minister Mohammad Azharuddin also expressed confidence that with TJS’s backing, Congress would secure a decisive victory. The announcement has energized Congress workers in the constituency, giving a major boost to Naveen Yadav’s campaign as the by-election gains momentum.
