TRS Wins Big; Chairpersons In 110 Out Of 118 Municipalities

Telangana municipal elections 2020 results have been out and KCR-led Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) wins big this time. After clinching most seats in various districts of Telangana, TRS candidates have been now elected as the chairpersons in 110 out of 118 municipalities and as Mayors in all the nine municipal corporations in the indirect election held recently.
TRS won 13 wards against the total of 30 wards in Jangaon with Congress winning 10 seats and BJP with only 4 seats and three independents also emerged victorious. However, the shock came to the Congress party which was hoping a victory this time but was crushed by TRS. For BJP, the position has slightly improved and in some regions candidates worked higher than Party’s expectations.
TRS also made a clean sweep in Khammam, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Medak districts. TRS has made it to all places in nine districts where the elections were held.
TRS working president KT Rama Rao, speaking on his victory, said, “The people of Telangana have once again demonstrated that they stand by TRS.”
The State Commission registered over 134 centers at which counting of votes was to take place. The total number of people eligible for voting was 53.37 and 70 percent of them cast their vote.
