TRS Wins with 40k Majority in Huzurnagar!

TRS won the by-poll of Huzurnagar Assembly constituency with a majority of 43,284 votes, leaving the Congress and BJP in shock! The counting was started this morning and the TRS is in dominating mode since then. Until the 12th round, Saidi Reddy was leading and finally, he got a majority of over 40,000 votes, making a new record in Huzurnagar constituency. In what could be more shocking, the BJP and TDP failed badly and didn’t even get the deposit. However, Uttam Padmavati Reddy from congress has managed to get 2nd place and secured deposit.
Even before the counting was done, Saidi Reddy credited the leadership of TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for his impressive performance, expressing his confidence. The TRS leaders and workers began celebrations over the victory. The counting of votes in the bye-election, held on October 21, began at 8 AM today. A 20-day-long strike called by TSRTC employees didn’t show any effect on the elections as the party has gained huge number of votes.
The workers had gone on strike on October 5th, demanding the state to merge the impoverished Road Transport Corporation with the government. The win of TRS is really a big blow to all the 50,000 workers who participated in the strike. The strike had gained popularity over the past two weeks after the Congress and the BJP extending their support to the striking workers. Even after the two RTC workers had ended their lives, KCR didn’t respond positively is a big shock and so no one expected the win of his party today!
