Taapsee Pannu Or Rakul Preet, Who Is Going To Grab It?

Recently, writer turned producer Kona Venkat has officially announced a biopic on Indian weightlifter Karnam Malleswari on the occasion of Malleswari’s 45th birthday.

The latest reports suggest that the makers of Karnam Malleswari biopic are considering two-star actresses, Taapsee Pannu and Rakul Preet Singh for the role of Karnam Malleswari. A close source of Taapsee has revealed that she is most likely to bag the part, considering the fact that she is already doing a couple of sports movies in Bollywood. On the other hand, the makers are also contemplating on Rakul Preet, who always likes to choose the fitness-based roles. Looks like, we need to wait and watch who will grab the highly-anticipated titular role.

Hailing from Amadalavalasa town in AP, Karnam Malleswari is the first Indian woman to win a medal at the Olympics; she won the bronze medal in weightlifting at Sydney Olympics in the year 2000.

Jointly produced by Kona Venkat and MVV Satyanarayana, the untitled film will be helmed by Sanjana Reddy. The movie will be made in 3 languages namely, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. However, the makers have yet to finalize the cast and crew of the movie. The makers are planning to begin the movies shoot in 2021.
