Tanushree Dutta Cries for Help in Viral Video, Claims She Is Being Harassed at Home

Actor Tanushree Dutta, one of the key voices of India’s MeToo movement, has posted a heart-wrenching video on Instagram in which she alleges ongoing harassment at her own home. The visibly distressed actress is seen crying and detailing her ordeal, sparking renewed concern about her safety and well-being.
“I am being harassed in my own home. Mujhe mere hi ghar mein pareshaan kiya jaa raha hai,” Dutta says in the video. She revealed that she had to call the police, who asked her to visit the station to file a formal complaint. However, she mentioned she’s physically and mentally unwell and might go in a day or two.
Dutta said she has endured mental and emotional trauma for over four to five years, leading to deteriorating health. “I can’t work, my house is a mess, and I can’t even find domestic help because of constant interference,” she added, highlighting how deeply the situation has affected her day-to-day life.
Tanushree rose to national prominence in 2018 after accusing veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassment on a film set, catalyzing India’s MeToo movement. Since then, she claims to have faced relentless harassment and psychological pressure.
She did not specify the identities of those allegedly harassing her but emphasized that it has reached a breaking point. The video has drawn support from fans and women’s rights advocates, who are urging authorities to intervene and ensure her safety.
As the video continues to circulate on social media, the public is rallying behind Dutta, demanding accountability and swift action. Her tearful plea serves as a stark reminder of the long-lasting effects of systemic harassment and the ongoing challenges faced by whistleblowers in the entertainment industry.
