Telangana Earthquake: Tremors Felt in Mancherial and Asifabad Districts
Residents in Mancherial and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts were startled by mild tremors early Wednesday morning, lasting two to three seconds. The tremors, part of a 5.3 magnitude earthquake with its epicenter in Mulugu, occurred at 7:27 AM and were felt in areas such as Luxettipet, Jaipur, Mancherial, and Kasipet.
Many residents reported fleeing their homes in fear, with claims of utensils falling off shelves and minor cracks appearing in walls. Similar tremors were observed in Bejjur, Koutala, Asifabad, and Wankidi.
Despite the widespread panic, no significant damage or casualties were reported. The event has sparked conversations about improving earthquake preparedness, particularly in regions prone to seismic disturbances.
