Telangana Government Appoints Special Officers to Tackle Deepening Drinking Water Crisis
Amidst the escalating drinking water crisis, the State government took decisive action on Wednesday by appointing senior IAS officers as special officers to oversee the situation until the end of July. Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari issued immediate orders to ensure the adequate supply of drinking water in both urban and rural households daily.
The appointed special officers have been tasked with visiting their assigned districts promptly and prioritizing efforts to address drinking water needs. They are mandated to mitigate the crisis effectively, closely coordinating with district collectors and state-level departments. Importantly, they are instructed not to take leave during this critical period.

Irrigation Special Secretary Prashant Jeevan Patil for Adilabad and Nirmal districts
Director of Labour S Krishna Aditya for Kumram Bhim Asifabad and Mancherial
Health and Family Welfare Director RV Karnan for Karimnagar, Jagtial, Peddapalli, and Rajanna Sircilla
Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Commissioner Anitha Ramachandran for Nalgonda, Yadadri Bhongir, and Suryapet
Tribal Welfare Secretary A Sharath for Nizamabad and Kamareddy
Transport, Roads, and Buildings Special Secretary B Vijiendra for Rangareddy, Vikarabad, and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts
Board of Intermediate Education Secretary Shruti Ojha for Mahabubnagar, Narayanpet, Wanaparthy, Jogulamba Gadwal, and Nagarkurnool
