Telangana, Iowa to work on agriculture, associated areas
Telangana and Iowa State, which is in the United States, have reached an agreement in general to work together in agriculture and related fields to increase the amount of food grown and raised.
Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy is in the United States for a visit. On his first day in Des Moines, the state capital, he met with Iowa Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg. He also met with Mike Naig, the Iowa Secretary of Agriculture, and people from Iowa State University.
Niranjan Reddy used the event to talk about how far Telangana has come in the last nine years under the direction of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. He said that Iowa and Telangana were similar in that they were both good at making food grains, chicken, and meat, which could lead to future partnerships. He talked about how new government programmes in Telangana have helped local farmers become more financially stable.
Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg liked Telangana's improvements in agriculture, especially the big jump in food grain production. He thought that Iowa and Telangana could both benefit from working together in agriculture and related fields.
Later, Niranjan Reddy met with Iowa's Secretary of Agriculture, Mike Naig, and told him about Telangana's growth in agriculture and how Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao leads with a clear goal. In response, Secretary Mike Naig said that he planned to go to Telangana soon to see its success for himself. He wanted to know more about how Telangana was working to improve agriculture.
At Iowa State University, Minister Niranjan Reddy talked about how Iowa State University and Prof. Jayashankar Agricultural University in Telangana could work together on study projects and share students and teachers.
