Telangana: Rajiv Gandhi Civil Abhaya Hastham Scheme Launched
Hyderabad: Emphasizing the Congress government's awareness of the challenges faced by unemployed youth, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced that a job calendar would be introduced in the upcoming State Assembly budget session.
"The State government will gather data on vacancies across all departments before March each year. The job calendar will be structured to issue notifications by June 2 and complete the recruitment process by December 9," Revanth Reddy stated during the formal launch of the Rajiv Gandhi Civil Abhaya Hastham programme at Praja Bhavan on Saturday.
In his address, the Chief Minister highlighted the government's priority in addressing unemployment issues. "Soon after assuming office, we issued appointment orders to fill 30,000 posts within three months," he noted.
Acknowledging the struggles of unemployed youth over the past decade, Reddy mentioned the government's efforts to reform and enhance the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC) following the model of the UPSC. "The TGPSC has already conducted the Group I prelims examination, and the DSC examinations are in progress. Considering the difficulties faced by the unemployed and their request to postpone the Group II exam, the government has deferred the examination to December," he added.
Praising the Singareni Company for their support, Reddy mentioned the Rs. 1 lakh incentive for candidates who cleared the UPSC civil services exams and those preparing for the mains. He emphasized the need for a mindset change among Telangana youth. "Despite being from backward regions, candidates from Bihar and Rajasthan achieve top ranks in UPSC exams and excel in railway, banking, and other exams. Conversely, our students often limit their preparation to state-level exams. When civil servants work in various central government departments, it benefits the state's development," he explained.
Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari emphasized the state's commitment to supporting students by extending financial assistance to civil service aspirants. She also noted a decline in the commitment of civil servants over the past three decades. "Our title itself implies that we are servants to the people, but this commitment is deteriorating, and we are falling prey to various vices at a young age. I hope you will not succumb to these influences," Santhi Kumari cautioned.
