Telangana is beating other states in Covid booster shots.

Telangana leads all other Indian states in administering booster/precautionary Covid vaccines.

Although the national booster shot percentage ranges between 23% and 25%, Telangana State administered Covid booster shots to 47.6 percent of its eligible population, which is the highest percentage in India. Andhra Pradesh followed closely with 46.3% of qualified individuals receiving booster shots.

HP is in 3rd position with 41.7%, while Odisha is in 4th position with 40.6% of its eligible population getting booster shots. Fifth place goes to Gujarat, where 39.6% of its eligible population receives the precautionary Covid vaccine.

“From day one of the Covid pandemic, CM K Chandrashekhar Rao has been very particular about ensuring that Telangana provides the best healthcare facilities to needy patients. We are glad that we are India's leading state to administer the maximum number of precautionary Covid vaccine doses. We also hope that the MOHFW, New Delhi, will ensure enough booster shots are available to Telangana in the coming days so that more eligible individuals are provided with booster shots,” Health Minister, T Harish Rao on Saturday, said.
