Thalaivi’ Trailer Released: Kangana Shines In Jayalalithaa Character

The J Jayalalithaa’s biopic, which was titled Thalaivi, is going to hit the screens on April 23. Before the release of the movie, the makers are all set to release the trailer of the film, today on the occasion of its lead actress Kangana Ranaut’s 34th birthday. Thalaivi film trailer comes a day after the actress won the National Film Award for her performance in the movies such as Manikarnika and Panga, this award is her fourth National Award.

Announcing the trailer release date on social media, the actress wrote on Twitter as, “One day to go for the trailer launch of the film #Thalaivi Gaining 20 kgs and losing it all back within a span of few months wasn’t the only challenge that I faced while filming this Epic Biopic, wait is getting over just in few hours Jaya will be your forever.”

The upcoming film, Thalaivi is about the journey of legendary actor-politician Jayalalithaa from movies to politics. The film also has Arvind Swami as MG Ramachandran, Jisshu Sengupta as Sobhan Babu, Prakash Raj as M Karunanidhi, and Bhagyashree as Jayalalithaa’s mother sandhya, the upcoming multi-lingual film is bankrolled by Vishnu Vardhan and Shailesh R Singh. It is helmed by AL Vijay and written by writer KV Vijayendra Prasad. Poorna and Madhoo essay crucial roles in the movie.

The actress gained 20kgs to get into the skin of the character of actor-turned-politician Jayalalithaa. For the actor, the movie is her ‘most ambitious film’. Earlier, Kangana mentioned how she did every possible thing to execute the character of the great person to perfection.
