Today's Supreme Court final arguments on Chandrababu Naidu's request for special leave
The Supreme Court will hold a hearing on Chandrababu Naidu's request for a special leave of absence in the skill development matter this afternoon on Tuesday. After arguing the case last Friday, AP government counsel Mukul Rohatgi requested extra time. The case hearing was thus postponed until this day by the bench of Justices Aniruddha Bose and Bela M. Trivedi. Chandrababu's attorney Harish Salve will hear counterarguments after the first round of arguments from Mukul Rohatgi at 2:00 pm. According to reports, this case's arguments should be over by this evening.
In the AP High Court, Chandrababu has filed a petition to annul the registration of a skill development case against him, claiming that the Governor was not consulted beforehand.
However, Chandrababu filed a special leave petition in the Supreme Court after the High Court denied his request. Chandrababu appealed to the Supreme Court under Section 17A of the Anti-Corruption Act, arguing that the Governor's consent is necessary before dismissing the case filed against him for breaking the regulations.
