Tollywood Film Chamber Supports Decision To Stop Shooting

Tollywood has been struggling to get back on its feet, with many movie makers reeling from heavy losses. With the exception of movies as Rajamouli’ magnum opus RRR and Sukumar’ directorial venture Pushpa: The Rise, many of the Telugu theatrical releases have had a lukewarm response.
According to the movie makers, this is mainly due to the emergence of OTT platforms. The daily wage workers have been protesting for an increase in wages for the past few months. Over 20,000 workers threatened to go on strike and Telugu Film Producers’ Guild decided to stop movie shootings from 1st August 1 to find a workable solution to the problem.
On Sunday the General Body of the chamber met and decided to extend their support and now according to the latest report, Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce decided to stop the shooting of the films from tomorrow i.e 1st August supporting their decision. The shoots will be stopped till the solution is taken in the interest of the industry.
Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce has announced that shoot will restart after taking the solutions of many problems. The remunerations of the actors, the OTT release and budgets of the films are said to be the major issues in the Telugu film industry.
