Tollywood Unites Against Minister’s Remarks on Naga Chaitanya and Samantha’s Divorce
Prominent Telugu actors, including Chiranjeevi, Jr NTR, and Allu Arjun, have strongly condemned Telangana Minister Konda Surekha for her alleged comments linking the divorce of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu to Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao.
Taking to social media, the actors voiced their displeasure, using the hashtag #FilmIndustryWillNotTolerate. Megastar Chiranjeevi expressed his disappointment in a post on X, calling the remarks "disgraceful" and urging politicians to set better examples. He emphasized that such behavior degrades public discourse and should not involve unconnected individuals for political gains.
"I am deeply pained by the disgraceful remarks made by an honourable woman minister. Celebrities often become easy targets for political mileage, but such vicious verbal assaults on our members will not be tolerated. No one should drag unrelated people, especially women, into political battles," Chiranjeevi said. He called for the withdrawal of these "malicious" remarks, stressing that leaders should work to improve society, not lower the standards of public conversation.
Jr NTR also lashed out, condemning the minister for bringing personal lives into political discourse. He stated, "Dragging personal lives into politics is a new low. Public figures, especially those in responsible positions, must respect privacy. We will not stay silent while baseless allegations are made."
Allu Arjun, along with actors Nani, Khushbu Sundar, and director Srikanth Odela, also expressed their outrage. In a story posted on Instagram, Allu Arjun said, "I strongly condemn the baseless derogatory comments made about film families. This behavior goes against our Telugu culture and should not be normalized."
The film industry has united in opposing these comments, urging respect and dignity in public discourse.
