Trump Claims Biden’s Exit from 2024 Race Was a ‘Coup’
Washington: Former President Donald Trump has made startling claims about incumbent President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race, describing it as a "coup" orchestrated by the Democratic Party. Speaking at a rally in Minnesota, Trump alleged that Biden, who had 14 million votes, was forced to exit the race through threats and coercion.
Trump claimed that Democrats used the 25th Amendment, which allows for the removal of a President deemed incapable of performing their duties, to pressure Biden into stepping down. Biden, 81, announced his decision to withdraw from the race on July 20, endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Presidential nominee.
This followed a disastrous debate performance and a failed assassination attempt on Trump, both of which significantly impacted Biden's popularity. Since Biden's exit, Harris has taken over the campaign, and the Democrats have regained momentum, presenting a formidable challenge to Trump in the upcoming election.
