Tu Tu Mai Mai Politics In Telangana Ahead Of Polls

As Telangana elections are approaching, relations between Governor and the ruling KCR government have remained cold.
The discord between the 2 sides is an extension of the feud between the BRS in the state and the BJP-led govt at the Centre.
The friction between the Governor and CM had reached a point of no return that was evident again late month when the latter skipped a dinner hosted by her for President.
Tamilisai has criticized KCR for not accepting her invitation to the programs at Raj Bhavan, which she considers a humiliation.
In November 2022, their relations hit a new low when Governor said that she suspected her phone was being tapped and claimed that an undemocratic situation was prevailing in the state.
Tamilisai also drew the ire of the ruling party for sitting on bills sent to Raj Bhavan, including Telangana Universities Common Recruitment Board Bill, 2022.
Denying the allegation, Governor said she wanted some clarifications from the ruling state government on the new procedure for appointing university vice-chancellors.
In recent weeks, the Governor minced no words in attacking the CM. She remarked that her visit to flood-hit Bhadrachalam forced the CM, sleeping in his bungalow, to rush to the temple town.
TRS was reportedly miffed over the Centre not consulting it before the appointment. Initially, the relations were cordial between the Governor and the state government, and the friction began when Tamilisai visited a few hospitals during Covid-19 pandemic.
