Twitter Account Of PM Modi’s Personal Website Hacked, Request To Donate Cryptocurrency

An account of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personal website and mobile app was hacked as it asked the followers to donate to a relief fund through cryptocurrency.
The account has over 2.5 million followers and is the official Twitter handle for PM Modi’s personal website – and the ‘Narendra Modi’ mobile application.
The news was confirmed by Twitter on Thursday and said that the problem has been resolved also. A twitter spokesperson told in a statement, “We’re aware of this activity and have taken steps to secure the compromised account. We are actively investigating the situation”.
“At this time, we are not aware of additional accounts being impacted. Advice on keeping your account secure can be found”, he added.
In the month of July, account of some of the prominent personalities such as Joe Biden, former US President Barack Obama, billionaire Elon Musk, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, were hacked and used for the illegal donation of bitcoins to a random link.
However, Twitter has defied and said that there is no relation between the accounts hacked in July and the one compromised now.
