UNICEF Celebrity Advocate Advice On COVID19

A very few people know that actress Trisha Krishnan is a UNICEF celebrity advocate! She has become the first South-Indian to have been bestowed the status in 2017. Her responsibilities include advocating for the rights of the youth. To date, Trisha has addressed the problems faced by people in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. She has taken note on anemia, child marriages, child labour, and child abuse at these places.
Zachariah, the chief of UNICEF office (Tamil Nadu and Kerala) who appointed Trisha as UNICEF brand ambassador said that she is an icon for the younger generation. He said that Trisha can amplify children's issues and addresses the violation of children's rights in the family, community, and in public spaces. She will also promote the education and health of the youth and the value of girl child in the society.
Trisha now also addressed the current problem of Corona Virus saying that it can be stopped if we all work together. “Novel Corona Virus or COVID19 can be stopped. Together, we can do it. All we need to do is taking basic precautions. Whenever you cough or sneeze, use tissue papers and after using throw them in a dustbin. Don’t touch your eyes, nose, and mouth unnecessarily,” she said.
She also asked people to wash their hands more frequently and at least for 20 seconds. She requested people to avoid large gatherings and if people observe any symptoms, she asked them to visit the doctor immediately. Also, she urged people to avoid close contact with those who have been tested positive for the disease. For more information, check this video:
