US Distributers Demands Their Money Back From RRR Producer

Director SS Rajamouli’s next project RRR is one of the most happening projects of Tollywood film industry. It was earlier reported that the movie’s pre-release business has been almost closed. However, as per the latest reports, USA distributor, who has already paid a huge amount as an advance to the main overseas distributor, is demanding their money back.
A close source of the team has revealed that the film’s overseas rights along with the USA were sold off to a global distribution for the whopping amount of Rs 75 crore and it is heard that the firm recently sold off the USA rights to a distribution company and took about Rs 4 crore as an advance amount.
As per the reports, the USA distributor is seeking their money back due to a delay in the film’s release. The makers have made an agreement that the movie would either release on July 30, 2020 or Jan 8, 2021. But due to the pandemic situation, the film’s shooting has been stopped for three months and as a result RRR release date has been postponed again.
As per the latest reports, the distributors are mainly bothering that they may not recover the huge amounts as per the agreement due to the recession period because of COVID-19.
On the other hand, Rajamouli is making plans to resume a two-day trail shoot from June 15th at Ramoji film city with a limited cast without leading actors.
