US President Biden Tests Positive for Covid-19 After Las Vegas Event

Washington: US President Joe Biden has tested positive for Covid-19 following his participation in an event in Las Vegas, the White House announced on Wednesday. President Biden, who is vaccinated and boosted, is experiencing mild symptoms.

According to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, Biden will be returning to Delaware for self-isolation while continuing to carry out his presidential duties remotely. His physician reported that Biden presented with upper respiratory symptoms, including a runny nose and a non-productive cough, prompting a Covid-19 test which returned positive.

The President’s condition remains stable with normal vital signs, and he has received his first dose of Paxlovid. The White House has assured the public that they will provide regular updates on Biden’s health as he remains in isolation, following CDC guidelines for symptomatic individuals.
