USA To Work With Andhra Pradesh

The USA will look towards Andhra Pradesh and Odisha for investments in the areas of defense manufacturing and other sectors, US Consul General in Hyderabad Joel Reifman said.

Speaking on the concluding day of the India-US Defence Cooperation conference, Reifman said, “Like the US, India is a federal system. So many great ideas originate from the laboratories in the State. So I again take credit for my team for locating it in Telangana,” he said.

"In AP you have enormous defense potential, you have an extremely long coastline, a population that is larger than California. Also, there are great entrepreneurial clusters," he further added.

According to him, AP’s geographical location is favorable for the automotive sector and defense companies.

The US Consulate will work on English outreach program for ‘underserved’ communities, for excelling in the fields of global industries and high technology.

This 2-day US-India Defence Ties Conference concluded on Thursday with a keynote address by AP Minister for Industries, Commerce, and Information Technology, Mekapati Goutham Reddy, and Reifman.
