‘Uppu Kappurambu’ Trailer Unveiled: Satirical Tale with a Social Twist

The trailer of Uppu Kappurambu, an upcoming Telugu-language satirical comedy, has been released by Prime Video. Set in a quirky 1990s South Indian village grappling with the bizarre issue of running out of burial space, the film promises a blend of humor, emotion, and social commentary. It will premiere on July 4 across more than 240 countries.
Directed by Ani IV Sasi and produced by Radhika Lavu under Ellanar Films, Uppu Kappurambu features Keerthy Suresh, Suhas, Babu Mohan, Shatru, and Talluri Rameshwari. Keerthy plays Apoorva, a newly appointed female village head who faces resistance due to her gender. Suhas plays Chinna, a quirky caretaker of the village graveyard.
Together, the duo navigate chaos and community opposition in their quest to resolve the grave shortage, leading to hilarious and thought-provoking situations. The film satirizes traditional beliefs and local governance while also touching on themes of gender bias and social change.
According to the lead actors, the film is a heartfelt comedy that goes beyond laughs to reflect rural realities. It will be released in Telugu with dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, along with subtitles in 12 languages, aiming for a pan-Indian and global audience.
