Venky Mama Day 1 AP & TS Collections

Venky Mama, the most awaited film had hit the screens finally yesterday. The movie has got a decent response from the audience and critics as well. Though the audience felt that the second half of the film is a bit boring, the chemistry between Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya in the first half has worked out big time. Though reviewers called it ‘routine’ story, they also said that the film is entertaining because of Venkatesh and Chay. With no major competition, the film has run successfully on its first day with decent collections.

In the Nizam area, Venky Mama has collected Rs 2.29 crores while it is Rs 1.60 crores for Ceded. The total share in Andhra and Telangana is Rs 7.02 crores. Thaman’s music has failed to impress the audience. If he composed superb music as he did for Ala Vaikunthapuramulo, Venky Mama might have collected even more collections at the box office, at least on its first day. The ‘astrology’ concept has also not worked and if it could be avoided, the film looks tighter. Editing should also be done better.

Though Venkatesh did his best, other actors should improve in terms of expressions and acting. Of course, this is not for senior actors like Rao Ramesh, Prakash Raj and Nassar as they did well. Venkatesh has carried the whole film well and Naga Chaitanya is good support. However, we can’t say that Chay is equal to Venky in terms of performance. Raashi and Payal are about okay in their roles. If the makers have avoided all these drawbacks, the film might have collected more than 10 crores on its first day without any doubt.

However, we cannot say that Rs 7.02 crores are less as no recent film has collected this much. And there is still a chance for Venky Mama to collect big today and tomorrow because of the weekend. People are watching films mainly for entertainment and mama-alludu bonding and the makers have succeeded in providing both. Directed by Bobby, Venky Mama also features Parag Tyagi, Sampath Raj, Posani Krishna Murali, Brahmaji, Chammak Chandra, Srinivas Reddy, Dasari Arun Kumar, Hyper Aadi, Vidyullekha Raman and Geetha.
