Vijaya Gadde- Twitter Executive Targeted By Tesla CEO

Vijaya Gadde is Twitter's legal, policy, and trust lead. This top counsel - including suspending former US President Donald Trump’s account, made some of the key decisions. She also played a significant role in the decision around banning political advertisements.
Gadde is in news once again as Elon Musk call out Gadde over a decision made by Twitter over 2 years ago.
Responding to a tweet by Saagar Enjeti, an Indian-American conservative commentator who described Gadde as “the top censorship advocate at Twitter”, Musk called the platform’s suspension of the New York Post account over a controversial article on US President Joe Biden’s son, “obviously incredibly inappropriate”.
Now all eyes are on Gadde and the important position she holds.
Vijaya Gadde is an American attorney employed as a policy, safety lead director and a chief legal officer and general counsel of Twitter. Gadde joined Twitter back in 2011.
Born in India to a Telugu family, Gdde moved to the US when she was 3-year-old. Her father moved to the US to pursue graduation studies.
From Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Gadde earned a bachelor's degree in industrial and labor relations. Additionally, she holds a juris doctorate from New York University School of Law.
Back in 2018, Gadde had accompanied Twitter co-founder and then CEO Jack Dorsey on a visit to India.
A photo of Dorsey holding a placard that said “Smash Brahmanical Patriarchy” brought Gadde into the spotlight.
Later, Gadde apologized and clarified that the placard was given to them and they should have been more thoughtful. She stressed that Twitter aims to be an impartial platform.
