Who Are The Public Figures And Celebrities Infected By Coronavirus?

After Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson announced being infected with the novel coronavirus, there were several other confirmed cases of well-known celebrities and public figures being infected with the virus too.

Hollywood’s biggest star Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were the first well-known figures to announce they were diagnosed during a trip to Australia, where they are now quarantined.

Famous Chilean writer Luis Sepulveda showed symptoms of the virus in February and was tested COVID-19 positive days after that. She was known to have contracted the virus during her return home from a literary festival in neighboring Portugal. She now lives in Spain.

In sports, Arsenal’s Spanish manager Arteta and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, who is British, have both contracted the coronavirus.

French basketball player Rudy Gobert has become the first US National Basketball Association player to test positive, prompting the NBA to abruptly suspend the season.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, 44, also announced being infected with the virus. However, she is under medical supervision since then. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days as per doctor’s recommendations.

Australian Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton along with French Culture Minister Franck Riester has entered hospital quarantine after being infected with the virus.
