Why N Chandrababu Naidu Cancelled His North Andhra Visit

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's political masterstroke on Visakhapatnam becoming the executive capital of the state has put N Chandrababu Naidu in a fix. He can neither support it nor oppose it. If he opposes it, he would estrange the people of North Coastal Andhra. If he supports it, his supporters in and around Amaravati will condemn him.
So baffled is the TDP, the leaders from North Coastal Andhra have advised N Chandrababu Naidu against visiting Vizianagaram. Chandrababu scheduled to visit Vizianagaram on January 2 and 3 to review the party position. But, now he has canceled his visit. His biggest concern is that most party leaders from North Andhra are backing YS Jagan's idea.
Former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Balayya Babu's son-in-law Bharat, and Kondru Murali have previously spoken in favor of Vizag as the capital city. Many north Andhra leaders are backing them fully. Some have even threatened to leave the party if N Chandrababu Naidu opposed Vizag.
Finding himself in on a difficult situation, Chandrababu Naidu has now decided not to visit North Andhra for now.
