Ravi Shankar Prasad, a senior member of the BJP and a former minister of IT and communications, has denied the allegations made by Dorsey and claimed that no threat was ever made against Twitter.
On Tuesday, the Indian government denied the "outright lie" that Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter, had claimed the government had threatened to shut down Twitter unless it complied with orders to restrict accounts during farmers' protests.
Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said in an interview that the Indian government "pressured" the company to remove content and restrict access to accounts that were critical of the government during the protests by farmers against new agri laws in 2020 and 2021.
