Xiaomi Mi TV 4 65-Inch Model Likely to Debut in India on January 10, 11 am
Xiaomi Mi TV family in India is expected to unveil a larger model on January 10 at 11 A.M, the company has teased through its social media presence. Mi TV India has tweeted, “It's time to go from small to big. Make space, #TheBiggerPicture unveiling on 10th Jan.” The tweet is accompanied by a small video which shows space being made on a table that would normally house a TV.
At present, Xiaomi Mi TV has the Mi TV 55-inch variant as the Largest Mi TV model in the country. The new model is speculated to be the Mi LED TV 4 65-inch variant.
On January 3, Global Vice-President at Xiaomi & MD Xiaomi India, Manu Kumar Jain took to Twitter to tease a photo of the new Mi TV with a tagline “the bigger picture”. In his tweet, he mentioned, “I believe a bigger experience is always better.” This could be a hint that we will see a larger screen size of the Mi TV in India, presumably, a 65-inch variant of the TV.
The arrival of the bigger Xiaomi's Mi TV variant could make the competition tougher for companies such as LG, Samsung, and Sony that all are offering their large smart TV models in India. Xiaomi already has the legacy of offering competitive pricing through its Mi TV range that could attract a large number of buyers for its new model 65-inch variant.
The 65-inch Mi TV 4 is expected to debut during the January 10 launch. The 65-inch variant is currently available in China with a price tag of CNY 5,999, which when translated to INR comes around Rs. 63,300. This suggests that the new variant could be priced between Rs 55,000 and Rs 60,000.
There is no information about the hardware powering the TV, but it is safe to assume that the TV will support 4K HDR display and runs Android-based PatchWall UI – similar to what we have seen on other Xiaomi Mi TVs in 2018.
Xiaomi's Mi TV range in India currently starts at Rs 12,499 for the 4A 32-inch variant. The company recently dropped the prices of some of its affordable Mi TV models includes Mi LED Smart TV 4A (32-inch), Mi LED TV 4C PRO (32-inch) and Mi LED TV 4A Pro (49-inch), thanks to a recent reduction in GST rates. The government reduced the GST rate on TVs and monitors of up to 32-inch screen sizes from the original 28 percent to 18 percent.
