Y S Sharmila Set to Take Charge as Pradesh Congress Committee President
Y S Sharmila, the newly appointed Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president, is gearing up to assume her new role on January 21 at 11 am. The official takeover ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Andhra Ratna Bhavan in Vijayawada city. Distinguished guests, including MP and AICC AP state affairs in-charge Manickam Tagore and AICC secretary Christopher Tilak, are expected to grace the occasion as chief guests.
The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has issued directives for the smooth transition, and the PCC is diligently making the necessary arrangements. Sources within the Congress party reveal that several Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) MLAs who were denied party tickets are now in talks with the Congress and plan to join under Sharmila's leadership.
Notably, Mangalagiri MLA Alla Rama Krishna Reddy is among those set to make the switch upon Sharmila's official appointment. Sharmila's elevation as the PCC chief is anticipated to inject fresh energy into the party, bolster its ranks, and rekindle past glories. She is poised to become the star campaigner for both the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the state.
As the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) maps out Sharmila's statewide tour, she is gearing up to address public gatherings across all three regions of the state. The Congress party has already initiated the candidate selection process for the forthcoming general elections, preparing for a resurgence under her leadership.
