YS Sharmila Criticizes Vaikapa and TDP for Lack of Development in Andhra Pradesh
YS Sharmila, the President of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), has strongly criticized the Vaikapa Party and TDP, asserting that both parties are essentially the same and have failed to bring about any significant development in the state over the past decade. Sharmila made these remarks while addressing Congress workers and leaders in Vijayawada after assuming her role as PCC chief.
Highlighting the financial burden faced by the people of the state, Sharmila pointed out that the state's debt had surged from Rs. 1 lakh crore at the time of its formation to a staggering Rs. 10 lakh crore. Despite this mounting debt, she questioned whether there had been any noteworthy development, the establishment of a capital city, or the emergence of major industries over the past ten years.
Sharmila emphasized that both the Vaikapa Party and TDP had failed to advocate for special status for the state, which could have attracted industries and generated employment opportunities for the youth. She accused both parties of compromising the state's interests for their own gain and lamented the lack of progress in critical infrastructure projects like the Polavaram project.
Furthermore, Sharmila criticized the influence of the BJP on Andhra Pradesh's MPs from both parties and highlighted the unfulfilled promises made by the BJP regarding bringing back black money from abroad. Overall, Sharmila's remarks underscored the need for meaningful development and a focus on the state's interests.
