YSRC Leaders Step Back Amid Police Notices, Says Minister Lokesh
HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh remarked that several YSRC leaders are withdrawing from active politics after receiving police notices for their controversial social media posts. Speaking informally with the media in the Assembly lobby on Friday, Lokesh observed that the people of the state are closely watching the courage of TDP supporters compared to the alleged retreat of YSRC activists.
Lokesh pointed out that the TDP cadre had shown resilience during the previous regime when they were implicated in what he described as false cases by YSRC leaders. In contrast, he noted, the YSRC cadre have begun stepping back, apologizing publicly, and even announcing their political retirement after being served notices backed by evidence of their social media misconduct.
"The TDP rank and file stood firm because they were innocent of any wrongdoing and bravely faced false accusations. On the other hand, YSRC activists are now being held accountable for their verified offenses, prompting their apologies and decisions to quit politics," Lokesh asserted. He emphasized that the current government is committed to curbing abusive behavior on social media, vowing strict action against those found guilty.
On a different note, Lokesh also addressed concerns about the pilot extension of school timings, which he acknowledged had received mixed feedback. "We’ve received inputs from various quarters, and a final decision will be made based on comprehensive feedback," he assured.
