YSRCP Leader Sajjala Reddy Slams Opposition Over Visakhapatnam Drug Seizure Allegations
YSRCP General Secretary and Government Advisor, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, launched a scathing attack on opposition parties for levying unfounded accusations regarding the recent drug seizure at Visakhapatnam Port Trust. Reddy pointed fingers at TDP President Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh, alleging a smear campaign fueled by a shortage of campaign material for the impending elections. Addressing the media at the party headquarters, Reddy vehemently denounced the baseless claims made by TDP and BJP leaders, affirming that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would never exert pressure on officials in such matters.
Highlighting Naidu's track record of influencing officials in past controversies, including the call-money scandal and sand controversy, Reddy characterized him as a disreputable politician lacking integrity despite his lengthy tenure as chief minister. Reddy also announced plans to petition the Election Commission of India (ECI) to prompt the CBI to investigate the drug case due to its potential political ramifications. He emphasized the need for transparency in the investigation to reveal the true perpetrators.
Accusing TDP and BJP leaders of having ties to the company involved in the drug importation, Reddy suggested that they were deflecting blame onto YSRCP to evade accountability. He reiterated YSRCP's commitment to a positive campaign based on its performance, contrasting it with what he termed as the deceitful tactics of TDP and Janasena parties. Reddy expressed confidence that the public had discerned the misleading nature of TDP's campaigning.
