Ram Gopal Varma Applauds Mirai as a Path-Breaking Film

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has heaped high praise on the recently released film Mirai, calling it one of the most impressive cinematic experiences in recent times. In a statement, he said the film’s visual effects surpass those seen in many ₹400 crore mega-productions.
RGV admitted he initially doubted Manchu Manoj’s casting as the antagonist but was blown away by his performance, calling him “terrific” in a role filled with intensity. He also praised lead actor Teja Sajja, whom he had expected to look too young for such a grand action narrative. Instead, Varma said Sajja proved his versatility and carried the role convincingly.
Highlighting the movie’s strengths, RGV pointed to its background score, interval block, and blend of action with deeper themes of family, duty, love, and betrayal. He credited director Karthik Gatta for shaping a story that feels like “a dream mixed with myth and heroism.” The filmmaker noted that the narrative is both original and gripping, giving Mirai a distinct identity in Telugu cinema.
He also praised producer Vishwa Prasad for supporting the project despite skepticism within the industry. According to RGV, this reflects the principle that “fortune favours the brave,” as the film has now emerged as a success without heavy pre-release hype.
Ram Gopal Varma concluded that Mirai is not a small film trying to appear big, but a genuinely grand production that only revealed its scale once audiences embraced it. His endorsement has added to the film’s growing recognition, cementing its status as a bold and innovative entry in contemporary Indian cinema.
