Chandrababu Naidu blames Jagan on Amaravati Project
Last week, the World Bank has opted out of the $300 Million Amaravati Sustainable Infrastructure and Institutional Development Project. The reason cited was the complaints from farmers of their land being taken forcibly in the name of capital development. Since then the war of words between YCP and TDP intensified.
The TDP president and Opposition leader Nara Chandrababu Naidu blamed YCP and alleged that they forced farmers to lodge complaints and it led to the withdrawal of funding.
In yesterday’s press conference Naidu cited, “TDP Government proposed world-class capital and planned everything accordingly. Revenue can be generated only if we construct cities like Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Land rates of the capital region skyrocketed when we are in power. After the formation of the YCP government, prices touched rock-bottom. This government has projected Amaravati as Bramaravati and that's why the center has withdrawn its support.”
However, Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy gives a different reason for the withdrawal. According to him, there were loopholes in the report submitted by the TDP Government. He further informed that World Bank has promised 5000 crores to AP under YCP rule.
