HRD Minister Nara Lokesh's Unannounced Visit to Bheemili's KGBV Highlights Student Needs
Minister for Human Resource Development, Nara Lokesh, made an unexpected visit to Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) in Bheemili on Friday, where he engaged with both students and teachers to assess the quality of education and school facilities. During his visit to a 10th grade classroom, Lokesh spoke with students about their curriculum and language preferences in exams. The students shared that they found speaking in Telugu easier, but opted to write their exams in English.
Lokesh also attended an exhibition titled ‘Vocal for Local,’ where students demonstrated their efforts to promote local products on a global scale. Principal Kumari Ganga provided the HRD Minister with an overview of the teaching methods and resources at the school.
Additionally, Lokesh inspected the dormitory, where students voiced concerns over inadequate facilities, requesting improvements such as better lab chemicals, enhanced computer lab resources, and a larger playground. Responding to these concerns, the HRD Minister assured the students that the government is committed to enhancing infrastructure in government schools. He announced plans to organize inter-school sports competitions, sports meets, and science fairs across the State, and pledged to provide the KGBV with necessary sports equipment and a computer lab.
