KTR Warns: Power And Water Will Be Cut Off To Cantonment Areas

KTR Telangana’s IT minister has warned of cutting power and water supplies to cantonment areas if the inconvenience caused to citizens does not stop.
Stating that it is not fair for the military to close roads whenever they wish to, KTR said the TRS-led government will hold meetings with the authorities, but if they fail to understand, appropriate action will be taken.
KTR made the statement while speaking during the Question Hour in the Assembly on the implementation of the Strategic Nala Development Programme in Hyderabad on Saturday.
According to reports, the Minister further said the state government had complained to the Centre regarding the issue, but to no avail, adding both sides need to share mutual cooperation while living in a city.
A report in the reputed news channel the minister also spoke about a check dam that has been built by the defence forces on Balkapur Nala leading to inundation of the Nadeem Colony. Also, the Archeological Survey of India is not allowing the govt to take up canal work in areas near the Golkonda Fort. He said the government, led by his father KCR, would go to any length in the interests of the citizens.
His comments have drawn flak from the state BJP that said threatening the military is unacceptable. "Today they are threatening our military authorities with statements to disconnect electricity and water supply. Are they trying to remove the military base from Hyderabad? What are they trying to say?" BJP spokesperson NV Subhash said.
