Nara Lokesh Visits Akanambattu Zilla Parishad High School, Addresses Key Education Challenges
On Friday, Minister of Information Technology, Communication & Industries, Nara Lokesh, made a surprise visit to Akanambattu Zilla Parishad High School in Puthalapattu constituency, inspecting classrooms for grades 8, 9, and 10. During his visit, Lokesh identified several issues, including the delay in textbook distribution. He promptly instructed authorities to ensure the immediate delivery of the required materials to students.
Lokesh also engaged with students about the language of instruction and was informed that classes were being conducted in both Telugu and English. Upon discovering that many students were sitting on the floor due to a lack of benches, he assured them that the necessary furniture would be provided soon. When asked about toilet cleanliness, the students expressed satisfaction with the improvements made in recent months.
Following his classroom inspections, the Minister met with Education Department officials to discuss broader challenges facing government schools. A key concern raised was the low attendance rate in government schools across the state, currently at 70%. Teachers highlighted the need for better transportation facilities, and Lokesh urged educators to focus on students who may be falling behind academically.
Lokesh also addressed concerns about students accessing inappropriate content on government-issued devices, suggesting the development of computer labs in government schools as a solution. He reaffirmed the government's commitment to addressing these challenges and improving the state of education in a timely manner.
